Funside Balaton camp fees

Funside Balaton: Standard Camp fee 2021

Statement by Funside Association on the camp fees for 2021

Dear Parents and Campers,

For almost a year now, our life has been full of uncertainties. In 2020, we had to face the possibility of not being able to organise our 10th summer camp, putting our main mission, giving children unforgettable experiences, in jeopardy.

For a decade now, we have continuously been improving our camp: our teaching, activities, human resources, vocational professionalism, administrative systems and camp location have gone a long way, but this forward process has always had its material costs, which we have been trying not to impose financially on our greatest asset, the community.

In these 10 years, we have become the region’s largest international camp, hosting children from more than 30 countries around the world. Organisations around us have continuously raised their prices which are now often two-fold compared to our operational costs, yet contrarily, we have been eager to keep the camp accessible to those who choose to decide to return to us year in, year out. Providing children with the best camping experience both in terms of value and variety has always been our key motive and it is something we still relentlessly keep an eye on.

However, the pandemic has shown us that we can no longer sustain our work at the same, high level if our prices do not keep up with the services we offer. We want to maintain the consistence of our organisation to make sure we can host children for at least another decade to come.

As a symbol of our gratitude towards the campers and their families who took the risk of supporting our community when uncertainty struck in 2020, we will remain true to our promise and apply the same prices for them in 2021 as we did last year.*

Thank you for your support and understanding.

We are looking forward to spending the summer together,

Eszter Kittka and András Kittka

Cancellation policy 2021

A 95% of the full camp fee is refunded if the cancellation happens up to the Monday two weeks before the given camp week (only a 5% service fee is charged from the full camp fee). If the cancellation happens following this date but up to the Wednesday before the given camp week, then 80% of the full camp fee is refunded. Any cancellation that happens from Thursday to Saturday before the given week permits a 50% refund of the camp fees. In case of no show or a withdrawal from the camp after the camp week has begun, no refund is issued.

In the case of the Camper getting ill during the Camp, forcing them to leave the Camp or spending time in isolation within the Camp, the Organisers cannot be held responsible and the illness does not provide ground for a refund.

If the authorities impose mandatory quarantine on the Camper and thus they cannot continue participating in a week which has already begun, there is no ground for a refund.

You can find more information about our cancellation policy in the Terms and Conditions.
