In time for the Olympics in Rio, we are holding our own Funside Olympics, during Week 5, which also includes the Aqua Park a new Lip Dub video shoot.
The fifth and final session of this year’s Funside Balaton camp will be the Olympics Week, as the last days of the camp happen to coincide with the first week of the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Similar to Week 3, our teams will compete through games and puzzles throughout the week, but this time representing countries of the Olympic Games.
Did you know how Funside will be represented at the 2016 Olympics? Indeed, the head of our Windsurfing instructors team, Aron Gadorfalvi, will be competing for Hungary at the event, so he won’t be with us during this session, instead we will be cheering for him as he fights for medals in Brazil!
The week of exciting activities starts by our Olympics-themed Scavenger Hunt on Monday afternoon, a new activity at Funside Balaton, kicking off the week-long tournament of fun. This is followed by another brand new event, the International Game Night, where each station represents a different country. For the first time, Week 5 will also have a Reversed Day, where campers get to try a new type of class in the afternoon, one that they didn’t choose for the morning periods that week. Don’t leave your dancing shoes at home, because Tuesday ends with teen disco!
Wednesday will be all about one of our camp favorites, the Aqua Park! Just like before, we are leaving the camp by bus right after lunch to spend all afternoon in waterworld until the clock hits closing time, to indulge in the fun of pools, waterslides and sports. The following afternoon, campers can collect points for their teams at the Funside Olympics, while there will also be time for some sunbathing by the lake. In the evening, it’s time for another new activity at Funside Balaton: it’s Quiz Show time!
The Lip Dub music video shoot (which was a crowd favorite new activity last year for obvious reasons) is scheduled for Friday afternoon, but preparations will already begin the previous day. Groups will once again get to make up their own choreography, but when it comes to lip dub videos, there is one main rule: there is no editing, so everyone must be at the right place at the right time! The final video will be screened in the evening, right before the medals ceremony for the Funside Olympics and the closing night of Week 5, and with it the entire 2016 camp. Saying goodbye on Saturday will be even harder than usual as the camp ends that morning, but there is always next summer to look forward to!
